Information Collection & Use
Your privacy is very important to us. This policy was developed to describe the privacy practices for VerticalCloud ("us", "we"). Within this policy, we describe the ways that we collect, store, use, and most importantly protect your personal and non-personal information on our network of web sites that link to this privacy policy, including: www.jmarentals.com, www.verticalcloud.com, www.rentalmatic.com, and www.payrentbyphone.com.
VerticalCloud Online Property Manager is a cloud-based rental property management system designed specifically for small to mid-sized rental property portfolio owners and property managers who manage, own, or operate up to 200 rental units. Our software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform (the "services") is included within this privacy policy. Type of Information Collected
VerticalCloud collects information from people who visit our network of web sites ("surfers") and others who decide to register to use one of our software services ("subscribers"), such as VerticalCloud, Rentalmatic, or PayRentByPhone. Surfers are entitled to review content on our network of web sites without "registering" with our service; however they cannot access the service application (e.g. VerticalCloud) without at least registering for a 15-day free trial. Any personal information that we do ask for is completely optional and only used to communicate updates about our suite of software services. Communication in the form of a newsletter to your email address or a phone call explaining our services in more detail may be triggered when providing information. You have the ability to opt-out of all future newsletters if you choose to do so.
In addition to the personal information we sometimes ask for, our network of web sites store files called "cookies" on your local computer to anonymously track surfers and subscribers. With the use of Google Analytics, VerticalCloud can use cookies to track when you return to our network of web sites. We use this information to understand what features are the most used by our surfers and subscribers. Google may also uses cookies stored on your personal computer to display interest-oriented ads. You can opt out by visiting here.
If you decide to subscribe to our service during or after your 15-day free trial, you are required to provide us with personal information, including: your full name, physical address, email, home phone number, cell phone number, and billing information – including a valid credit card. What’s more is that we are able to track your IP address every time you log-on (authenticate) to any of our services, discern your Internet browser type (e.g. Mozilla, Firefox, Internet Explorer), operating system, etc.
Furthermore, we can view property, unit, tenant, lease, and other similar information that you enter into VerticalCloud. We continue to utilize Google Analytics to track specifically what features within VerticalCloud are used most by our customers, helping us to tailor our development efforts towards the most popular and useful features of the system.
Personal Identifiable Information
Subscribers of VerticalCloud use our network of web sites to host business data and other information that relates to their rental property or property management business. We take privacy very seriously and will never share, review, reference, or distribute any of this data without the sole purpose of resolving a customer support inquiry, or to look into any perceived violation of our business-customer agreement entered into at time of registration.
Any billing or financial (e.g. credit card) information we collect is only used to check the qualifications of prospective subscribers and to bill them for the use of our software services. VerticalCloud partners with a 3rd party credit card processor and ACH provider to process customer payments. Our processor is held to similar privacy standards as VerticalCloud and is not permitted to use your billing or financial information for anything other than the purpose of ACH or credit card processing.
Application Data
All of the data you enter into VerticalCloud or our network of web sites belongs to you. You can change, export, or delete your rental property data from VerticalCloud at any time – we do not restrict you from taking your data with you. We will use your application data, at times, to facilitate pay-per-use features offered within VerticalCloud by 3rd party providers (e.g. tenant screening, e-payments). You will be reminded of this fact when you sign-up for a pay-per-use feature within the application.
Sale of Business
In the event of the sale of VerticalCloud to another business, or in the event of a merger, acquisition, or consolidation – your data will be protected and subject to the obligations outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Changes to Privacy Policy
Any changes to the Privacy Policy will be promptly communicated to our subscribers via email and an internal message within VerticalCloud.
